Final Concept Boards

The final interior scheme for Burton Mill cafe/bar has been presented on two A1 boards. Above, is the first board which includes a perspective drawing of the main room, and a detailed drawing and elevations of one of the main features; the bespoke bench seat around the mill stone housing.

Also included on this board are all the fabric samples which were chosen for the reupholstery of seating, images of the furniture in question, and colour samples.

The board below includes perspective drawings of the kitchen and bar areas. Also fixed to the board are the samples of worktop, the Weald Green painted wood units, and the Chantilly Creme tiles. A floor plan of the entire interior furniture layout has been included on this board. The board is grounded by a band of images of initial inspiration and photographs of the existing interior space. The key colours of the kitchen and bar areas have been included on this board.

This hand drawn perspective shows a large area of the main function room, complete with examples of each type of seating arrangement. Through analysing this drawing, it is easier to recognise the fabrics which have been upholstered to each item of furniture. The round bespoke bar table surrounding a vertical beam is also included in this view. 

Conceptual drawings - Kitchen/Bar

Here are the final conceptual drawings of the kitchen and bar area. These have been drawn by hand, and rendered using watercolour paints. Both views display the Fired Earth kitchen units and dresser in Weald Green, up against the natural stone walls and exposed floor boards.

Kitchen/Bar Area

The followinf images display the chosen kitchen, made by Fired Earth. The units are made from painted wood with a distressed finish. These units are part of the Bastide collection, and can be fitted to the kitchen walls or left freestanding.

The chosen colour, Weald Green, is complimentary to the pink and green interior colour scheme.

To the left is an image of the fridge that has been chosen to sit in the kitchen area. It's design is taken from the 50s, and it is intended to continue the mismatched look of the interior, through to the non-public kitchen area. This fridge has been sourced from the well-known company Smeg, which provides many many colour schemes. The chosen colour of cream will tie in well with the neutral elements of the interior.

To the right is an image of the chosen dresser which will be included in the bar area. This item has also been sourced from Fired Earth, and adheres to the theme of countryside living, as dressers are a signature piece in many country cottages and farmhouses. The image displays a dresser in Chalk White, however the final piece will exixt in the Weald Green colourway, to match the kitchen units.

Finally, the image to the left shows an enlarged version of the tiles chosen for the kitchen bar areas. The tile has also been sourced from Fired Earth and is named Chantilly Creme. It is hand made by craftsmen, therefore each tile looks slightly different. These tiles will be fitted on the walls above the floor units in both the kitchen and bar.

Bespoke Bench Seat

The images displayed above demonstrate the bespoke construction of a bench seat around the central mill stone housing. Adjacent to the hand-drawings, are photos of the existing mill stone housing within the mill interior.

A top view, and two elevations have been provided in 1:20 scale, along with precise measurements. The hand-drawing just above shows the finished product in perspective format. Tne intention is to upholster the finished seat frame with the Goa Fuschia striped fabric.
